Foreword from the Board President of Lower Silesian Innovation and Science Park

The Polish economy is one of the largest sub-suppliers for global producers. Hence, our economic development should base on the growth of manufacturing technologies and implementation of new standards for organising production. Such standards and technologies will significantly enhance the competitiveness of Polish enterprises and as a result can provide high added value. The new manufacturing technologies and new products introduced into the market have been deemed to be the priority fields in FP7 created by the European Commission. They serve as a fundament for building economy having its basis in knowledge and generating high intellectual, business, and social added value. The above-mentioned circumstances have become the main motivation for actions aiming at the transfer of the best world experience in defining the priorities which support innovations and permanent transformations of the entities whose aim is to create innovation leaders. This is possible by means of internal transformation of a company and by changing the personnel’s, owners’, and partners’ awareness. At the same time these aims constitute a general message of Lower Silesian Innovation and Science Park, which was established to stimulate creative activities of companies, establish new innovative spin-offs, support commercialisation of scientific research results and generate novel methods and technologies implemented into economy, thus turning it into knowledge-based economy. In the nearest future the circles characterised by high innovative, economic, and scientific activity and integrated around this initiative can turn Lower Silesia into a dynamic and innovative European region. This also goes in line with the target of the regional development strategy.
